Ben Schmitt, Founder and Craftsman of Davinci Designs, creates clean, modern furniture out of exotic, natural or reclaimed wood sourced from local vendors, as well as streamlined metal accents to further customize a unique piece to fit your individual aesthetic and space.
Starting with 3-D modeling, Schmitt will consult with you to sketch an initial concept, refining based on your needs as you reach a final approved design together, before manufacturing it to the highest degree of quality and craftsmanship with hand-selected finishes and hardware. Individual pieces can include everything from kitchen and living room tables, to lighting, storage or home accents - tailored for you based on Ben's design inspiration.

3-d modeling design
Partnering with you to bring your furniture to life, Davinci Designs begins with a 3-D model that will help you to envision the finished piece, whether you are an individual homeowner or an interior designer. These renderings will help us to adjust your custom design to ensure the right fit and function as you work with Davinci Designs to refine the 3-D model of your furniture based on your living space needs. Schmitt will share his vision with you, offering recommendations throughout the design and creation of your custom furniture piece. This close collaboration at the start of the creation process will help Davinci Designs to exceed your expectations, resulting in a beautiful, enduring piece of custom, handcrafted furniture.
Finishes & hardware
Handcrafted furniture from Davinci Designs is designed based on your unique taste. Ben Schmitt, Founder and Designer, works with you to personalize each piece, helping to provide options on the finishes and hardware from an array of hardwood, veneers, lacquer and powder coating paint colors. If you have your heart set on something that isn't readily available, Ben will help source some alternative options for your consideration. Finishes and hardware are personally selected from regional craftsman and artisans in support of the local community.

Welding & fabrication
Davinci Designs offers fabrication services for exotic, natural and reclaimed wood, mixing in modern metalwork to further customize the designs. Each piece is carefully designed and artfully fabricated in Rotkreuz, Switzerland in the Canton of Zug. Ample space in the WORKSHOP enables furniture pieces to be constructed from a wide range of materials - all under one roof. The workshop houses the machinery to cut, mill, weld and construct handcrafted furniture from concept to build.
Designer Ben Schmitt also partners with a local powder coater to bring bright, modern touches of color based on the agreed design. He collaborates closely with these colleagues to protect the quality of the finished piece.
General shipping & delivery
The majority of available, in-stock furniture is delivered through shipping companies or special courier and should arrive to most destinations in the U.S. within 10-12 business days from receipt of order. Note that it generally takes between 2 - 3 days for order processing.
Ben Schmitt, Founder and Craftsman of Davinci Designs, can also hand-deliver furniture in the Indianapolis and surrounding area. The building process usually takes between 8-9 weeks, depending on material availability. Custom furniture will deliver to most destinations within 9-10 weeks from receipt of order. This can be shortened if you order a piece that is in stock.
